Community relations volunteers from Team Bourns raised more than $5,800 for this year’s virtual Susan G. Komen Inland Empire cancer walk! Supporting this worthwhile cause, the Bourns team tracked in excess of 1,273,000 steps in October to build awareness and contribute donations to combat breast cancer. Team Bourns took the Number 2 spot in the Top Corporate Teams category and the Number 3 spot in the Top Teams category.
The funds raised from the “More Than Pink” walk will be used for:
- Research into new life-saving discoveries
- Care to ensure access to quality screening, diagnosis and treatment
- Community funding that provides cancer patients and their families with a safe place to share, grieve and support
- Action through advocacy that lobbies for government funding and critical patient support and research
Bourns also sponsored several incentive programs for its volunteers. Dave Fernekes, Ericka Montoya and Khevin Curry were the leading contributors in terms of steps walked, funds raised and most people recruited. Even during the pandemic, Bourns continues its commitment to support the communities in which we live and work, and encourages its employees to engage in safe community relations activities.
