Power Conversion Simplified – High Clearance/Creepage Distance Isolation Power Transformers

More and more applications require a solution to simplify isolated interface power. Isolation between the power source and an electronic device user is necessary for safety reasons. Designs for Industry 4.0, low/medium risk medical* sensors, communication PHYs and metering all require this capability.

With our new HCT Series transformers, designers get the optimum high clearance and high creepage distance isolation they need for the most popular interfaces used in these applications including CAN, RS-485, RS-422, RS-232, SPI, I2C, and lower power LAN. These advanced high-voltage isolation push-pull transformers are AEC-Q200 compliant. If you are working on an application where isolation from potentially hazardous voltages is needed such as from a high-voltage battery, your design needs Bourns® HCT series transformers.

Feature advantages include an input range of 3.3 to 5 V with an output range of 3.3 to 15 V and up to 350 mA, configured in a variety of turns ratios. Plus, these new transformers are built with a ferrite toroid core for high coupling factor and efficiency. Offered in a low-profile 6.5 mm housing with reinforced insulation, at least 8 mm clearance / creepage distance and 4.2 kVac withstanding voltage, the HCT series provides an elevated degree of isolation from high-voltage hazards.  Just the features you are looking for in isolation power supplies using Texas Instruments SN6501 and SN6505B transformer drivers.
